About the Event
"Groove & Create: After-School Beats Club"
Overview:
"Groove & Create" is an exciting after-school club welcoming youth aged 8-16 in Thamesmead to explore the dynamic realms of songwriting, music production, and street dance. Hosted at Tittmuss Avenue Baptist Church, this 9-week program aims to nurture creativity, boost confidence, and provide a collaborative platform for participants to produce a collective song and dance choreography. The programme will be running every Mondays from 4pm, until 25th March 2024
Key Components:
1. Songwriting & Melody Magic:
- Participants will delve into the fundamentals of songwriting, exploring lyrics, melody creation, and collaborative brainstorming to shape a unique collective song.
2. Garageband Interactive Sessions:
- Engaging with Apple's Garageband, participants will embark on interactive music production lessons, learning the essentials of digital music creation, instrumentation, and composition.
3. Street Dance Expressions:
- Led by experienced dance instructors, the program integrates street dance choreography, allowing participants to express themselves physically and connect their movements with the rhythm of the created music.
